On today's episode I'll answer on of my most asked questions; what Chase cards do I use, why do I have so many, and why I like Chase so much.

what would be easier to get approve for, to get in the door with Chase, when i fall 5/24 would it be the Amazon Prime Visa card issued by chase or the chase unlimited or flex card. AmEx cards don’t have nearly the travel protections compared to Chase except the Platinum.

One day, far far far in the future, I’ll be under 5/24 and will be able to get a Chase card.

Actually, my current plan is for me to stay team Amex and have my wife work the Chase ecosystem. She’s an AU on all my cards and I would be on hers.

I know it’s “smarter” to not have Player 2 be an AU and to refer them for their own cards but, I can’t imagine paying AFs on all three Amex charge cards times 2 AND on the Chase trifecta times 2. That’s a lot of annual fees.

Your credit card collection, in total, must be at least seven cards. I'm assuming most do not have an annual fee or it would be difficult to justify that many cards unless you spend in the tens of thousands of dollars on them to recoup you fee back.

I've got a few chase accounts, I like to use them for my savings so I don't even carry a debit card let alone a credit card with them at this point. But I like the idea of signing up for the points..

Those are some great chase cards RJ. Ya i kinda low key regret not getting a few more chase cards before i left 5/24. currently i only have the chase disney premier & freedom flex. I applied for the CSP prematurely in early 2020 but was denied. Then i got pissed and went after other card issuers. if i ever get back under 5/24, i'm gona be like you and pick up 1 of the ink cards first!

the RAT team of AMEX is what"s stopping their customers from spending via AMEX cards compared to Chase which are more lenient when it comes to GCs

Good summary and always informative. I'm currently resisting the CSP. Even with the fee and the loss of better rewards on the $4000 spend it is a great bonus, but it's nearly impossible to justify any further use for a non traveler.

Have you had any experience doing upgrades and downgrades with Chase? I'm thinking of downgrading my CSR to like CFU and open a CSP for their current 100K signing bonus.. I'm not sure if they have a limit of how many credit card upgrades/downgrades one can do. Eventually I plan to upgrade the CFU back to CSR once they approve the CSP. Hopefully it'll work.
