imagine we send a generations ship that will travel for like 300 years, and people on Earth invent something a lot faster during these 300 years and the new ship arrives sooner than that generations that would be a total WTF moment when the first ship finaly arrives and there's already a McDonald's built on Alpha Centauri :D

The galactic British Empire was pretty funny. Especially considering you can't hold an Earth Empire for more than a century as well as the lack of even a rudimentary space program.

Great video, but to clarify something... A near light speed ship getting to Alpha Centauri would not (by time dilation) cause >4yrs to pass on Earth. But rather it would cause <4yrs to pass on the ship. So sub light speed travel is actually quite viable really. Though communication would still certainly be hard.
