If the humans don’t kill each other by then, we can surely colonise the outer space.

Lets see what Neil has to say about this.

Elon is wrong here. The milky way is 100, 000 light years across, without a breakthrough in physics we can only travel a small fraction of that speed. So essentially a million years wouldnt be anywhere near enough time to travel to every star system in our galaxy.

Well, i’m no astrophysicist or engineer, but the leap from Mars to other planets with no new physics… is quite a leap

I'm sticking with the rock that ALREADY has air, water. Giraffes, butterflies, dolphins, and STEAK.

As Neil deGrasse Tyson has said many times... if we have the ability to terraform and colonize other planets in our galaxy, then we also have the ability to save this planet we're currently on.

EDIT: PEOPLE! Stop seeing things that are not there. Please recognize that nuance is real and use critical thinking.

Not once did I say that we shouldn't try to terraform other planets or not colonize the galaxy. In fact, I am totally for this. But I also know(despite what Musk tells us) that we are a long way from this. I probably won't see it in my lifetime and neither will you. My only point was that we should try and save this planet. That's it, nothing else.

I know I won’t be alive to see this and it gives me fomo but I hope one day we can successfully have a way to do interstellar space travel. It’d be so cool to be apart of

what makes it seem that other planets won't have the same problems. earth alone being habitable is a miracle

Math: Our galaxy 87, 000 light years across... so to cross in a million years we would have to travel at 1/11 the speed of light and expand continuously. ( 87, 000 light years / 1, 000, 000 years )
There are some nearby dwarf galaxies. But the nearest big galaxy is Andromeda - 2.5 million light years away. Instead of traveling there we could just wait 5 billion years (about the age of the earth) because apparently Andromeda will merge with the Milky-Way by then (i.e. hit us hard!)

In the galaxy’s defence.we can only hope that humans never do this.we haven’t got the brains to look after one tiny little planet let alone a galaxy.

Why do we just forget the logistical problem of manufacturing items on another planet. Like we just take for granted how easy it is for us to get raw materials and turn it into stuff

as a species we are one of the few that can prevent its extinction but that will only happen if we ever see ourselves as humans and not as separate tribes

Mars isn't a friendly place, the temperature swing between day and night is about 200 degrees, the atmosphere is 0.09 psi earth is 16 psi, no oxygen, no magnitosphere which means you die of solar and interstellar radiation, gravity is 1/6 the gravity of earth, the entire planet becomes a dust storm... good luck I'll stay here
