W-L balance is definitely not a scam. It's a concept that makes intuitive sense for most people. Some people identify with their work so much, that they intermesh W & L. Chris probably does this with his role at Futur, and good on him. But for most people for whom work is mostly just a paycheck, there are clear psychological benefits of drawing distinct lines between work life and personal life.

When you retire, it doesn't mean you stop having a purpose or utility in life. Work isn't the purpose of life. You can do 0% work (as in employment) and still find fulfillment in family, hobbies, or community work.

I like your videos but this one was contradictory from the first half to the last half. When people talk about wL balance they are meaning what you described in the last half. You literally told us not to use work life balance but then you said these two things have to live in harmony. I felt stoopider after this video.

Lol work life balance doesn't mean choosing, it means putting yourself in a situation where your work isn't the only thing you do especially if its not your passion. Most work will never be the passion of the performer, sometimes your performing because your capable to perform. Yes those who have a passion will excel, but life isn't fair and everyone doesn't get to do their passion. So dont listen to this from such a perspective.
