Hi Tiff - thank you so much for making this video. I'm currently in week 6/12 of my coding bootcamp in SF and up until this point, I have felt like THE WORST coder and questioned if this career pivot is meant for me. Now, I'm feeling super hopeful and not alone! Thank you :)

I thought I was good at frontend development until I came across frontend mentor challenges and I was instantly humbled. Great Content. Love from India

Newbie, who is in the prepatory phase at a coding bootcamp, here! I’ve been watching videos and it’s getting me nervous because of the realities. But, all these great videos have shown me that everyone has felt this way but learned to embrace it. I’m learning to do the same and I know I have a long journey ahead of me, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Thank you for the informative video!

Hi Tiff, (Sarah - USA - near Buffalo, NY) thank you for making this video... I have felt like this over the last few years trying to learn different languages. Your way of thinking and how you have felt along your journey mimics my different type of situation on so many levels ... keep up the great content and doing your videos...you have been such an inspiration to me and others. Thank you! 🙂

The 1st tiff in tech video I have watched in a year and it was very refreshing. I'm 55 and went back to school for a year to learn full stack with a bunch of kids less than half my age. In addition to coding we had to work/learn remotely, working project teams using git/github and use agile methodologies, kanban processes etc. The coding was only a part of the learning. I topped my course and at the end classmates wanted to be on my final project team. I can't reinforce the importance of the 'other' skills enough (communication, organization, facilitation, personal discipline and just 'turning up'). After graduating, I targeted 12 (junior dev) roles I wanted, had two interviews and got one job offer as a Junior Full Stack engineer starting in two weeks. The employer said one of the key decision points was their perception of my ability to work in a team. Tiff talks the truth! some tips.... do one or two small personal projects to cement learnings, do some challenges on 'codewars' to build basic language knowledge and enjoy what you are doing!

Thank you so much for this. I finished my bootcamp several months ago and job hunt has been brutal, interviews either didn't go well or they just didn't pick me and honestly hearing you talk about all this makes me feel less like an impostor. Thank you!!

Yes I think you moving around during your video is much nicer to watch than just sitting stationary somewhere. As far as coding goes I can relate to what you said. Being a good coder involves more than just coding. Coding is not easy especially at the start and navigating the many problems and accepting that this is a field that you are forced to constantly learn, because the second you think you have it figured out, a new problem will force you to learn some more. That's what makes it great, but that's what makes it a challenge too.

Hello! I am Monique and I am from Brazil 😁, I love languages but I was the worse student of my English class, I have been told how horrible my English was, quite often, but I studied hard and improved my English skills by my self, than I got the opportunity to live in USA for 2 years, and I became an English teacher for 10 years ish! I love coding, it challenges me all the time, and I can't stop loving it! I work more than 12 hours a day and just have a little time to study JS ! Thanks, I love your channel is awesome as you are!

Thank you so much for this! I'll be starting my 3-month bootcamp at the end of the month. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. But I was encouraged when you said that even those who are not good at math can learn coding because I am bad at math. Lol.

Thank you so much. I'm signed up with the Flat Iron School for SE. I have felt this way. I'm from Michigan. I'm also finishing up my Grad degree in MS Psychology.

A relief to hear that a willingness to keep looking things up equals a willingness to problem-solve and learn. More vids like this please. Thank you!

Thank you for this video, Tiffany. I feel like I'm an imposter way too often but as I step back and look at my skills, I really do have a lot to offer my team. 🙂

Watching you from Ireland! I'm a business analyst and QA tester (manual) and I was always scared of coding. Just thought it wasn't for me because I'm not a genius...hahaha
Watching your videos about impostor syndrome gave me a huge push to learn coding and I'm enjoying it a lot!! Big Thanks!! Love your videos!
