You can extract the starch from the seed and then use it for cooking. Or you can just dry the seed, grind it, then use the powder akin to using flour to make something like a dessert.

I remember as a child when out of curiosity, I bit the outer covering of the seed and took out the actual seed. I called myself "the youngest scientist in the world" and showed it to my parents. they told me to immediately throw it away. I listened to them but I thought my parents were jealous of me because I found the true seed of a mango before they did.

its one of my happiest memories growing up.

Recipe for "mango water": wash the mango (it should not have any coating), cut in pieces with the whole skin, without the "fishy" seed :) place it in the blender add water and blend, then strain it and then you get a delicious mango water. You can adjust how thick you like the mango water adding more water or more fruit. I use not sugar because mangoes are already sweet.

Mangoes are kinda similar to peaches in this sense: fruits have 3 tipes of tissue and are classified by what each of them develops into. Skin like exocarp, fleshy mesocarp and woody hard endocarp makes bot of this fruits drupes. For comparison tomatoes are classified as berries because both the meso and the endo carp are fleshy while the exocarp is skin like. (i don't know if this this can be used as a taxonomic criterion tho tbh)

Great video! I also dissected a mango seed last time. I wonder if we plant the true mango seed in the soil, will it sprout faster than the one that is in the hard casing?

Urushiol is the chemical compound for resonic acid (ph 4.3) present in mango, if you feel a burning sensation when eating a mango, its not ripe and the acid is eating away at your skin

Eaten mangoes all my life I never knew what the actual seed looked like. No wonder the mangoes in the U.S taste so different.

Nah...I bite onto the whole thing, with peel and all. The true mango flavor is in the peel, so I bite and chew both, peel and flesh and it is the best flavor ever. In fact, the peel should be added to the making of mango ice cream. Mangoes, like any other fruit, should be washed very well before consuming it.
