I remember my Wii remotes batteries dying once and my mom said “if you put the batteries in the fridge for a while they’ll work and too my surprise I got a good more 20 minutes of gameplay out the batteries. XD

To explain the Magic of the "repair" is easy the Laser to read the disc loses usually power over time. Inside the Gamecube is a Potentiometer which allows you by turning it with a screw driver to change the Resistance of it to give the Laser more Power. But if the Circuits are Cold the Resistance is Lower as if it is when its Warm. Thats a side effect from the Expansion by heat.

Another thing take of the case. Be very careful take a slightly damp not dripping qtip with alcohol. Gently rub the lense by rotating the head of the qtip. Then gently to the same with the dry side. Put it back together and that should fix it

Well my Wii has the same issue (btw it’s the flipping red Wii) and I was gonna take it somewhere to get the laser replaced, but imma try this real quick and I’ll edit this when I’m done.
