Sway bar links connect the sway bar (stabilizer bar) to other suspension components. They have a movable joint that can be damaged or wear out over time. When that happens, the joints get loose, and rattle. This video shows you how to install new TRQ sway bar links on your 2003-2013 Toyota Matrix.

This repair was done on a 2005 Toyota Matrix Base 1.8L Wagon 4-Door and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2003 Toyota Matrix
2004 Toyota Matrix
2005 Toyota Matrix
2006 Toyota Matrix
2007 Toyota Matrix
2008 Toyota Matrix

Tools you will need:
• 21mm Socket
• Swivel

Great video! Straight and to the point, no long winded ridiculous introduction or awful background music.

I'm gonna be changing the lower control arm and front struts anyway. After watching your videos for each, I'm thinking take out lower control arm, do the bottom end of the sway bar link, then strut and finish the sway bar link.

Should add Matrix/Vibe to the title as it applies to the vibe 2003-2008. Thanks for the video

My only addition was needing to lower the car onto the swing arm to compress the shock absorber enough to line up the sway bar link bolt with the holes - easy enough. This totally restored the front end on my son's 2007 Matrix with 340, 000 km on the clock.

Thanks for the help with my strut/sway link job. The hardest part for me was the bottom sway bar link by far!

Definitely could have used some video on how to get a torque wrench onto the bottom bolt

Excellent video (especially the part about using a pry bar to get to the bottom nut), but getting the old nuts off is anything but "easy peasy" here in the rust belt.

What kind of wrench did you use to tighten the bolt and what kind of torque wrench to torque it? I can’t torque it properly because i need to use the Allen key to hold it from spinning

At 1:18 seconds, what is the tool holding the stud? (size and such)
