JWST Just Solved The Mystery Of Supermassive Black Holes. The James Webb Space Telescope JWST has just solved the mystery of the origins of supermassive black holes. With the help of the Hubble Telescope, the Chandra X-Ray observatory and the gravitational lensing effect, the space telescopes have been able to see 13 billion years in the past, seeing some of the oldest quasars ever formed. It is these quasars that power the supermassive black holes.
