How Does the S Pen Work? - Galaxy Note 7

This video shows whats inside the Galaxy Note 7 S pen. Obviously Samsung isnt going to tell us exactly how the pen functions, but when we open it up and take a look at each of the components, we get a general idea of what the S-pen is capable of.

This video also shows how to replace the little stylus tips that come with the S-Pen. If they wear down, or get lost somehow, it is a very easy replacement.

I've always wondered what was inside those pens. I pictured a more elaborate circuit board. This video was interesting.

Those coils actually are threads that not only have electromagnetic detection integrated, but they also sense the slight changes in pressure so they are actually what sends the info to the board regarding pressure applied to the pen. Used many Wacom pens. Same tech

I know this is ancient, and you may never see this comment, but if you do, I'd love to see a teardown/disassembly of the S Pen Pro. Haven't been able to find one online, and I'm curious about how easy it might be to take it apart and put it in a different body/case.

Did not know it is completely powered inductively. Very interesting! Any idea how much power that consumes? Can you turn it off, so the pen stops checking for a pen? How many coils are needed for the pen to be useful on the whole screen?

I really love my Blue Coral Note 7. I ordered it on the 2nd of Aug. got it delivered on the 16th. The Note 7 isn't the only product I have and love by Samsung, I also have a 4K SUHD Curved Smart TV, shows vividly awesome bright true colors while showing the blackest of blacks. It's is if the display pops right out at me. Also have a Samsung surround sound system hooked to my TV. Dishwasher, washer and dryer and fridge french door style.
