Missed the previous lesson?

Algebra II on Khan Academy: Your studies in algebra 1 have built a solid foundation from which you can explore linear equations, inequalities, and functions. In algebra 2 we build upon that foundation and not only extend our knowledge of algebra 1, but slowly become capable of tackling the BIG questions of the universe. We'll again touch on systems of equations, inequalities, and functions...but we'll also address exponential and logarithmic functions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, conic sections, and matrices. Don't let these big words intimidate you. We're on this journey with you!

About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

During this lockdown, I had no Coaching or School, so I was tensed with Logarithms. Your video helped me a lot to understand, sir😊

This is the second time where I'm trying to make sense of my math homework and you solve it a different way. It doesn't do much trying to convert what I learned here to the school book method.

Why not take the natural log of both sides and solve for t
So we have  5*2t = 1111
Divide both sides by 5 => 2t = 1111/5 => 2t = 222.2
Now take the ln of both sides:   t*(ln2) = ln(222.2)
Divide both sides by ln(2) => t = ln(222.2)/ln(2)
t = 5.4036/0.6931 => t = 7.7963

Plenty of you seem to be confused by this cause you dont know what log is. Please read the title. Notice how it says "exponential and logarithmic functions". The method it uses is logarithm. If you don't know how to use log then obviously this is too high level for you.

Thanks, I didn't want to know how to calculate it but just how the terms are in english. You helped me there.

Great lesson, however I'm looking for exponents and equations and solving with less information that was provided.

Guys c'mon. Everything is fine with video. If you don't know something about logs - you always can learn it on Khan Academy.

Correction:  the exponent did not copy correctly so I will use the carrot.  Where there is 2t it should be 2^t.  Sorry for he confustion
