in short, 16GB of RAM is still enough for most games, but I would still recommend taking 32GB for the future

So the difference in 1% lows . 32GB reduces the shuttering . Most games uses RAM close to 16GB . It means in future we need more then 16GB of RAM as a standard choice .

16gb is still decent for the majority of current games but upcoming games will definitely require more ram and with the current prices 32gb is pretty much worth it

The fps differences might be small, but the 1% low fps sometimes is much better with 32 gb which will improve smoothness while gaming

I bought another 16GB mainly because I keep a lot of browser tabs and other junk open so I easily consumed all the 16GB I had when running newer and more demanding games. But 16GB is still the sweet spot for sure

16gb is fine for just gaming but considering that 32gb is cheap these days I'd go for it anyway

Note this is tested on a X3D CPU, the impact might be more severe on non X3D Hardware with less L3$ due to more RW Operations to system memory.. It would be interesting to see the benefits of a non X3D and X3D CPU with both RAM configurations....

The test should be run with 5 Chrome tabs open, Discord open, and Spotify playing all in the background

I had 32.GB in my PC for years because RAM is so cheap, but i need 32.GB sometimes for video editing.
RAM speed is more relevant. If i don't remember wrong you get up to 20% speed boost in games with DDR 5 vs DDR 4.
When it comes to UE 5 Engine games, SSD Speed matters.

32GB may not be needed for games, but damn, Windows sure breathes better with it!

32gb is the new minimum for a gaming system, otherwise you're gonna have stutters with lower 1% and 0.1% lows in some games which is cripplingly bad in like 30% of these and bad in most others. Ram is so cheap its worth doing

Basically the same
But should u buy 16gb while 32gb getting cheaper? No.

My current 16 gb ram usage is 90%+, which i think make my fps not stable. Thats why i am planning to upgraded it to 32gb. Am i correct?

16gb is good for gaming until you open the browser

Now 16 GB is enough in most cases. Where there is a need for more, it will work if nothing consumes RAM in the background, that is, purely Windows + the most important services + the game. Then this shouldn't be a big problem. Most users don't think about this, so in the most complex games they need more than 16 real GB. My Windows 10 consumption is 1.6 GB of RAM and +-40 processes. Total RAM in the system is 16GB. I run Hogwartz with 16 GB and get almost no stuttering. The Last of Us without problems.

32GB ram and 10GB vram should be the minimum that everyone should have.

In Avatar you can see a difference in low 1% and low 0.1%. And if you have background tasks and 8Gb card, then you will have big problems... I have 4090 and I remember 20-24Gb of RAM used on some games, so 16Gb is enough only for budget gaming.
