The 1912 winner got a " great " start. Lucky guy, his proper time was probably closer to 11 sec. By the way, the 1908 winner, Reggie Walker, from South Africa, won the final in 10 8 sec. Roy b, Cape Town, South 🇿🇦 Africa.

There were mostly more than 10 or even 20 false starts before every race. No disqualifications at that time. The video fragment of the start could be one of the false starts and not the actual race as there is a cut in the video
