I'm a cast member of Disney the past 20 years. Majority of those years was working in New Orleans. I have vague memories of seeing this statue. But I believe I can give a little bit more insight. We had a similar situation happened with the skunk's statue in the pet sematary at the Haunted Mansion pet cemetery in front of the mansion. A gardener accidentally bumped the skunk statue with a plastic bucket causing the foot to fall off. I told him not to worry about it because we had a spare one at the pet sematary at the side of the mansion. Statues are made out of concrete and have a steel skeleton. Overtime the steel rust causing the statues to become fragile. It's my belief that the same thing happened to your ugly baby statue. It more than likely tipped over and broke several times. Resulting in maintenance doing a patchwork repairs to it. It's quite possible due to the updating you coming to New Orleans square with Tiana's restaurant statue look out of place so it was replace with a more appropriate looking one. But that's just my own theory. 20:06
