Excel Formatting Tip 6 - Highlight Cells Greater Than or Less Than a Certain Value in Excel 2007

Use Conditional Formatting in Excel 2007 in order to quickly and efficiently format values in a list that are greater than a certain value or less than a certain value. This method does not remove or hide any rows like the filtering data method and it is quick and easy to use. This tutorial also shows you how to change the format of the cells that are greater than or less than a certain value and how to completely remove or edit the conditional formatting options for the selected cells in the spreadsheet.

Do you know how to delete the entire rows if the value is lower than 10 ? I am asking because I in my experience from 8000 rows I have to delete 500 manually which is a lot of work.

My Excel v16.54 doesn't do that. It has a more complex formatting menu and whenever I select the data and then follow your instructions and set the value to 5.0 NOTHING HAPPENS....???

How do you highlight specific letters or numbers only? I don't want to do the whole cell just specific numbers or letters. Like for instance i want to highlight all the number 35 in my spreadsheet. When i do it using conditional formatting it highlights the entire cell 35 is in. i don't want it to do that.

hi, i work for a company where i need to track changes in inventory quantities. some of our clients dont carry our full line of products, making it very difficult to track changes in inventory unless you do it the old fashion way. (comparing each individual product on the list) I know how use the "IF" function to compare one column of numbers to another, but the problem is that one column may contain inventory items the other list doesn't which throws off the formula..any suggestions?
