Review: JSAUX Steam Deck Dock

In this video we're going to take a look at the new edition of JSAUX's Steam Deck Docking Station, and whether it's worth it to get this now, or wait for the eventual Valve release.

Edit to add: I've seen reports that this dock does NOT work well with other devices over an extended period. For example, AYANEO devices can have their HDMI chip burnt out when using this dock and their 65W charger. So my recommendation is to not use this dock with any device that requires a power input greater than 45W.

I have the soft rubber case and I think it is a must have. The Steam is is very scratchable device. I put cases on my electronics to keep them scratch free in-case I ever want to sell them down the line.

I have the jsaux dock and it's everything I was looking for. The only complaint I have is that it partially blocks the intake grill on the back, but sliding the deck slightly to the side in the dock eliminates the issue and doesn't detract from performance in any way.

One thing you can do for the ethernet issue is maybe get a 90' degree cable and it should have the look a bit cleaner when the deck is not in the dock.

The Ethernet they make right angle extensions that would solve that issue fairly quickly. It adds to the overall price of the unit but at $50 and being the best option for a dock, I'll take it.

I've been using this docking station with my steam deck for a good month now and I haven't had any issues. It's nice to have it hooked up in the living room and it works great for some casual gaming. I do wish the ethernet was on the back and maybe have one of the usb ports on the side instead. But that's more of a nitpick.

Ordered a dock about 2 weeks ago and I have not gotten a tracking number yet. I wish jsaux would let us know if they are undergoing difficulties. There hasnt been any communication. Hoping for the best.

I ordered this dock directly from JSAUX on July 22nd... and I am still waiting for it. Wish I ordered it from Amazon but the upgraded version wasn't available there.

The hardcase with the kickstand is pretty neat. If you already own a USB C hub, and you buy that hardcase with the kickstand, you then have very little need for a dedicated dock.

Ordered a nice black 90 degree angled cable for the side network port. Regardless with the Deck docked, you do not see the Ethernet cable anyway. I agree they should have put the network port on the back and moved one of the USB ports to the side maybe .. all in all it is well made and I dig it.

I was worried that the screen would stay on while docked. Glad it doesn't.
For the ethernet port, I bought an angled cable so that all the cables go the same way for better management.

Outside the US we have this new hip thing called public transportation, where having a case would be useful. Especially considering how slippery steam deck is and I never feel safe holding it as is.
