Great review, I loved how you went straight into the unboxing and testing of the dock instead of shilling it. Interesting to find out why it never worked on the older 4k TV. Has the company given you any updates on why that may be?

the monitor probably blacks out cause your monitors VRR won't accept that rate. you'd probably have to turn off freesync to make it work

10/100 ethernet and USB 2.0(and it has blue connectors, which is misleading), just wait for official one instead of grabbing crap like this

My monitor totally supports 40hz when switching while my deck is connected via USB C to DP cable.
Same for my 4k TV

The sad thing about going to the general settings and setting the resolution, is for now the steam deck only displays max what your TV can go up to. Meaning if you have a 4K 30fps TV - No matter the setting, your steam deck will only run at that fps/hrz.
The only way to get around it is to play your games in desktop mode. Easy fix.
