If you love long orchid videos, this one is for you! I have 4 Phalaenopsis orchids in desperate need of a repot. Slightly overdue! They have mostly been surviving on their air roots from misting, but dehydration is taking its toll. Watch as a give them a semi-boost from a revisited tea soak tactic, and repot them so they can return to their best - beginning with this growing season.

Also, stay tuned for a members-only area if you would like to "Geek-Out" with me at The Orchid Hut! Beginning mid-July. Watch for more mentions and announcements!

Your tea soak worked wonders for my Phal! However it took about 10 days. I saw drastic hydration at about day 8. Thank you 🙏

Hi Dana, thanks for showing us your phals that needed the tea soak. I have a couple myself that could do with trying a tea soak on. I’ve been noticing the two bottom leaves on both plants looking too floppy yet the next up from there are very firm. I grow my phals in leca but I can’t see why the tea soak wouldn’t work on them as well unless of course those leaves are beyond saving. I’ll be interested to see your updates on getting the aerial roots down into the pots, it’s always a bit hit and miss when I’ve tried it. Thanks again for your interesting video.

I would have used a bigger pot . Do they like being squashed like that?

Where did you get the pot? I need a source.
