This reminded me of later in the 2010s playing Dragons Dogma trying to beat the online Ur- Dragon because I really wanted one of it's mask drops (didn't care which) spent hours fighting the thing over days checking back in as often as I could then missing it in its final minutes when the internet cut out (this happened with a few Ur-Dragon fights always seemed to miss the last few seconds regardless of how many hours time I contributed to it's fight) if it hadn't been for the kindness of one player who gave me a full set of masks i'd never had got a single one sadly I couldn't share inventory from my xbox version to other platforms and never got another mask again lol

I had a couch in the room where the pc was. You could hear people coming down the hall. I would have just enough time to change the screen and pretend to be asleep on the couch.
I was "waiting" for the pc to finish saving, or spell checking, or whatever and "fell asleep".
