Become a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist | CHCP

Limited Medical Radiologic Technologists, also referred to as limited X-ray technologists or medical imaging technologists, take X-rays of patients’ various anatomy, then pass the images along to doctors for diagnosis. The limited X-ray technologist role is very specialized, yet you will still work closely with patients, explaining procedures, setting up and operating the X-ray machine and related equipment. Job responsibilities will include positioning patients for X-rays, determining appropriate angle and height of X-ray equipment, and calculating the dosage of radiation needed to create quality X-rays of the appropriate density, detail, and contrast, which enables the physician to make an accurate diagnosis.
