sam shamoun / shamounian talks about the secret meaning of the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, where Jesus describes of Lazarus the beggar who went to heaven, and was comforted with Abraham versus the rich man who was evil and was in torment. We can see the in the parable that the roles were reversed in the after life lazarus having a poor life while the rich man didnt show him a lick of mercy and now the opposite happened where in the the spirt realm the people didnt have mercy on him either . This parable not only shows we should treat eachother with respect and love but also help one another because life is temporary and after it is eternal. Pointing out the fact that abraham knew what was going on earth showing that the dead do know what is going on because God is revealing it to these people and in this example Jesus being God shows that this event did take place because he used named instead of just figures portraying that this indeed take place.

Jesus Christ's teachings, particularly in Matthew 12:32, suggest the possibility of forgiveness after death: “Whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” This implies that certain sins may be forgiven in the afterlife, as the “age to come” refers to life after death (supported by passages like Mark 10:30 and Luke 20:35). Additionally, 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 describes a purification process where a person is “saved, but only as through fire, ” which indicates a state of cleansing for the soul. Since neither heaven (where no sins exist) nor hell (where forgiveness is impossible) fits this description, the Catholic Church interprets this as evidence of purgatory—a temporary state of purification before entering heaven.

Many people believe that because they are "part of the tribe" they'll get to go to heaven regardless of how evil and sinful they were while on earth. I pray they learn from this because hell is forever and bloodlines mean nothing if you gleefully sin and offend God by denying The promised Messiah Jesus Christ...

The story of the rich man and Lazarus demonstrates a lot of things.
When we leave this life we go one of two places, the presence of the Lord or to torment. In the time before the resurrection of Jesus righteous souls went to Abraham’s Bosom, a place of waiting without torment until heaven is opened by Jesus. Unrighteousness souls went to Hades or hell a place of torment before the White Throne Judgement and the lake of fire. Once you leave the place of the living, there is no going back, no communicating with the living. You will be conscious of where you are, but you won’t be able to change a thing. The way things are at the time of your death is the way they will stay.

People try and say that the story of the rich man and Lazarus is only a parable but it's not. Lazarus and the rich man is never called a parable. The story of the rich man and Lazarus uses the actual name of a person. Such specificity would set it apart from ordinary parables, in which the characters are not named. Also, this particular story does not seem to fit the definition of a parable, which is a presentation of a spiritual truth using an earthly illustration. The story of the rich man and Lazarus presents spiritual truth directly, with no earthly metaphor. The setting for most of the story is the afterlife, as opposed to the parables, which unfold in earthly contexts.

Good message Sam, however why are we assuming that Abraham Supernaturally knew what happens on earth based on the prophets and Moses, Aren't Moses and the prophets in the same place as Abraham and could also communicate what their ministries on earth were? How do we know this knowledge was supernatural but not just communicated? So what do we make of 1 Peter 3:19 then, was there a reason to preach there if these people knew exactly what happens on earth while dead?

Before Jesus resurrected, while he was in hell, did he rescue any of those that were in hell and bring them to heaven after he came back to life?

Matt 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: 35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet (Psa 78), saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. I've also heard that Lazarus stories existed before Christ and were used as literary devices to teach lessons.

So did Jesus make His friend to be named Lazarus to connect to that tradition?

Good teaching, my wife and I are in disagreement about a pre-trib rapture. Do you have a teaching on it

So are you saying that people or being judged and being thrown in hell TODAY before the beast and the false prophet? I think people do not understand that what Jesus was explaining is explained in Isaiah 66:24 …..and if you say that the rich man is in hell today then how do you explain what King Solomon wrote

“For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭9‬:‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Thank you for what God has granted to you to do for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

A parable is not to be understood as literal.but what moral lesson we can get.the soul in hebrew is nephesh meaning a living person.so the story is not a literal one.
