MS Swaminathan Death: Renowned scientist MS Swaminathan, father of India's Green Revolution, has passed away in Chennai. Swaminathan was 98 years old. He played a crucial role in developing high-yielding varieties of paddy that helped ensure India’s low-income farmers produce more yield. MS Swaminathan also served as the chair of the National Commission on Farmers to look into farmer distress. He served on various positions of government and also as an advisor to the government. MS Swaminathan is survived by his three daughters.
