I'd like to share my "set-up". I intend to use it for grad school running very intense software. I got the Dell XPS 15 (9560). Its got an SSD, 16 gb ram, 4 gb of dedicated graphics, a 4k screen.. On paper its the best you can get for less money than a Mac. Revit, CAD and the whole Adobe suite runs smoothly. Also to note if you're thinking of getting a Mac, if you decide to use parallels or dual boot you'll have to partition (split) your ram, vram, and storage. That was the biggest con for me.
