That was very helpful, thank you. I appreciate the way you cut right to the chase and tell people what to look for, what the basic specs you need are, and how to shop.

I particularly appreciated the advice to just stick to intel processors and to filter results by "available in store." When I've gone online to shop in the past, I've been overwhelmed by the hundreds of computers available, not to mention all the specs to sort through. Too many choices! Paralysis of analysis! But you simplified the process considerably.

I also appreciate the tip about the discount prices being essentially meaningless (i.e., not a reflection of quality).

Major helpful for this old lady. They put some stuff up like ssdram, or 8 core, blah, blah....if you are tech..no problem. But people like myself, who are in their 80's and still do a lot computer work, there really needs to be more explanations as to what is what and how to judge it. You helped a great deal on the processor benchmark. I have several printers, and 3 plotters (no they are not used at the same time) however, the software that it takes to run them, and my two Cutters, (Silhouette, and Curio 2) you need a 2.5 Ghz. I agree with at least a 1TB hard drive. Microsoft bloats the *&^% out their operating system, and need all the room you can get...LOL. Thank you, Jason for the info....it is a gem....
