Do you ever look around and wonder, “Where did all this stuff come from?” When we’re too attached to our possessions, we can find ourselves drifting away from God. Letting go of stuff is a critical step toward holding on tighter to the hope we have in Christ. Join Pastor Craig Groeschel to learn about one-handful living, the roles fear and sentiment play in letting go of stuff, and why the stuff we hold onto on Earth might not matter as much as what we can store up in Heaven.

This is so helpful as I have family members dealing with hoarding. The surplus of stuff is harming physical, emotional, and their relational health. God wants us to be free of the weight of taking care of things, so we can focus on him and be used in action by him in the world. It is not better to have time to love more items than more than time to love people. We are called to love others. It is more blessed to do more for God than have more. ❤

Maybe we should give the new stuff away and keep the old for ourselves.

I'm in the middle of preparing for a huge move to the other side of the country, and I need to take as little items with me as possible, so I really needed to hear this today. I have had such a hard time letting things go, and this video helped me realize that most of it is junk. I'd been keeping old Christmas decorations that reminded me of my ex-boyfriend. I have over 70+ books that I know I'll never read again - they served a purpose during my adolescence, but not anymore. I've outgrown them. I have a sewing machine that I keep around "just in case" despite the fact that I hate sewing. I've got mountains of clothes, but typically only wear the same five or six outfits on rotation. There is no way I can bring all of it with me, so today I've got to make a BIG change and lighten my load, and I know that I can do it with God supporting me.

Once you get the material things or people you've always wanted, the excitement ( newness ) wears off quick💯. For me it does anyway👌. I live with the necessities only now. Glory to GOD ALMIGHTY 💯💞.

Did get upset about shops being difficult for my family in Australia. And God told me later on in the day, don't be upset because this is not your home.

Wow. So much stuff just sitting in my closet that I've never used and don't even remember when I bought it. None of it matters to my life. God let me give this away and be a blessing to many. Thank you, Pastor Graig

I… wow. God really is telling me I’m making the right decision. Slowly, I’ve reverted back to my old self in a lot of regards. Perhaps I never changed, merely changed my methods… but I’ve been committing idolatry while telling myself I wasn’t. It’s only been a day of letting go, yet it feels like a break up. That I think is very pathetic, that there could be something in my life that I let go of that makes me feel as if my heart is breaking. As if I’m loosing something significant when in reality it is nothing. I’m praying to stay strong

In the past 22 years I've moved 9 times and although I don't necessarily recommend this method, its really resulted in helping me get over "stuff-itis" With each move I've let go of so much unnecessary "stuff ". I hate clutter! Still working on the mental clutter, but I WILL GET THERE!!

God is so good! I was JUST reading a book on this topic, and now I'm hearing a sermon on it.

My word for this year was (and is) "declutter." This sermon is a great reminder to end my year well and get rid of the stuff that doesn't matter.
