I'll be an old man crying to this music in another 30 or 50 years...

This sound makes my heart squeeze, I miss this, when I was at school, I used to come home wanting to play and have fun with my friends on Skype... A good time that will never come back... Nostalgia of these good times...

How time has gone by. Seeing comments from 2015, 2016, 2017, and even 2018 saying how times have changes since they last listened to this album. Time really does fly by fast.

The more the time passes, the more listening to this hurts me.

It's been 10 years since I first played this fantastic game, and I know I can never go back.

Fandom aside, minecraft is a really amazing game.

This game is so dark and scary. Not in a direct way (unless you count the monsters), but in like a weird, subtle way. I remember, when I was younger, I was strip mining diamonds in peaceful mode, and I needed my sister to sit and watch me because I was still terrified of the atmosphere deep underground. Even the music, which is for the most part relaxing, still has a weird ominous undertone undertone for me. You feel so... alone. I don't even know why. This is why I hated the idea off adding dogs and cats and villagers to the game, it kills that lonely feel imo.

I don't know why but that song makes me sad... :(

Even after all the updates removing the true feeling of OG Minecraft, Minecraft will never get removed from that place deep in our hearts.

Seeing how time passes after the first era of minecraft, these comments ranging in dates, from the earliest of 2013, to 2018 or even 2023 nowadays. It’s so interesting to me to see how even during a time where viruses approach and tensions flare, one common thing can unite us all.

The first day has passed.

You are alone in a cold taiga forest.

It is the middle of the night.

You are alone.

You find a hill. You climb to the top.

You sit and watch the stars pass.

Dawn approaches.

Some nights, I take a look at the stars, play your Minecraft OST and break down crying, questioning my existence. C418, you have made the most touching songs in human history... Gateways to the human soul. Thank you.

I remember when I first played this game, building my first house, going into the forest and hearing this. Classic.

You follow the Eye
across the land,

It starts to sink
into the sand.

You start to dig,
What does this hold?

You soon find
The Ancient Stronghold.

You continue to wander
throughout the halls,

for treasure and creatures
live in these walls.

You find an old library,
You pick up a book,

it's old and dusty,
you continue to look.

You finally find it,
The strange Portal

You use up the Eyes,
you're just a mortal.

Reconsider this quest
my dearest friend,

you're about to experience
Your Death... The End.

This particular song. Out of ALL the other songs that play on survival, this has a completely different vibe to it. "Sweden", "Subwoofer lullaby", "Mice on Venus" and others are more enthusiastic, capturing the feeling of loneliness yet freedom and creativity. As many describe, they feel like "wanting to go home but not knowing where home is". They feel hopeful and melancholic yet cheerful.

But this? THIS song, "Key" has always sparked a feeling of mystery, emptiness, loneliness and sadness. This song perfectly encapsulates the complete dread you feel when playing, especially, singleplayer. I would even go as far and call it the "Herobrine's theme", because it makes you feel like there IS something wrong with this empty world. Hell, even the construction of this song is like this. It is slow, with a piano heard in the distance, while the main instrument sounds like a blowing wind. The whole melody is very slow too. I get chills whenever this song starts playing.

C418, you are a MAGNIFICENT composer.

I miss my friends so much... We've all gone our own ways since this game's initial release. This is one song that reminds me of my junior high and high school years. It was a different time then. We are a couple years away from graduating college now. Makes me sad, and wish I could live in those days longer now that they are gone forever.

I don’t really know why I decided to pull up C418’s album all of a sudden, near the end of 2018. But I did. Not because it was on my recommended page, or because I heard about it somewhere. Because I remembered, out of nowhere. This game. Mine craft. I don’t even know where to start. From 2011-2015 I played mine craft. The simple days. The days where I was in middle school, had nothing to do, didn’t have to study to do good on a test, and never had any homework. It was the days where, I could just come home, and play mine craft. The days where everything was simple. My childhood. The days where I would hop onto a new world, and build something new, or do something I didn’t know how to do. The days where I would try to build a red stone contraption by watching 20 YouTube videos on it. The days where I would go onto multiplayer, join those stupid servers like hypixel or mineplex, and play sky wars, or hunger games. The days where, I had nothing better to do. Where I would get on skype or discord and talk to one of my grade 7 friends, and play on a server with them, or build something in a world, that I would probably never go into again. The days where I spent countless hours fooling around on this game, where I would spend all of my birthday money buying ranks on servers so I would be better than the others, and they would think I’m cool, and the best. Where I would use mods and play around with all of this cool stuff. Listening to these songs brings back so many memories, it brings back my childhood. So I sit here, after laying in my bed listening to these songs for an hour, crying a little. Writing this paragraph because of how much this game meant to me, because of how simple my life was, how many hours I would spend on this game. How many memories I have, countless years of them. So today, I go on mine craft. But it’s not the same. There’s so many new things in the game that were never there when I played. So many things that confused me. It’s not the same as it was when I played in 2012, playing kitPvP and buying the god armour and killing everyone. Not the same in 2013 when I spent all my time on mineplex, and bought ranks. I realized something after listening to these songs. What brought back these memories was the music. That’s the only thing that hasn’t changed. When I got on mine craft for, I don’t even know how many years I havnt been on it. I sat there, and looking at all the things I made when I was 11 or 12 brought back memories. And then that soft mellow piano of wet hands, fading in, in the background made me sit there. And just cry, remembering all my memories. Remembering my childhood. So if anyone’s reading all the way down to here, thank you. And thank you to C418 for making these songs, and this album. Listening to this brought back memories. It brought back my childhood

So from the bottom of my heart,
Thank you.
