By 2019, I was already deep into my Minecraft Beta nostalgia phase. It had been 8 years since I first played Minecraft around that time, and so I was really into replaying Beta 1.7.3 at the time. While trying to relive some of those old memories, being in awe of how different it was, I was greeted with this song playing as I sat atop a cliff over where my base was, watching the sun set in-game slowly, taking it all in. That within itself ended up becoming a new nostalgic memory that I now look back upon among those other ones, showing me that special memories don’t stop being made, even when you're knee deep in reliving those really old ones.

I'm turning 24 this week. Ten years ago on March 3rd, 2011, I picked up this game. I convinced my mom to buy it for me because I described it as a constructive art tool.
For me the fun times were over when I grew up. The days where I could load up a Hamachi server with my 6 closest friends are long gone and I don't talk to a single one of them anymore. They're all living their own lives working full time. They probably don't remember the adventures we all shared together.

But one day about a year ago, I found the old server map. The same one I played on with my six closest friends. I loaded it up, and right on cue, as the map started to render, Dry Hands started to play and instantly started to cry. All of what made so many memories, trapped on a couple megabytes of drive space. All except for the people who made it special.
