Five years ago I started Tai Chi. As a result I am still alive and active at 93!

I just got released from a psyche ward for depression suicidal thoughts. I started doing Tai Chi just today and I'm already starting to feel a little better.

Your Tai Chi lessons for beginners are quite useful. I am 59 years old and have started practicing basic Tai Chi for a few minutes daily. It is about a month only and I feel more energetic whole day. Thanks a lot for the good work !

So i tried this video as my very first Tai Chi experience (or anything in this realm). Was easy to get in sync, and suddenly strange and deep feelings start to surface. That was so unexpected!! I guess I will continue with this journey. Thanks for showing me.

Practiced Tai Chi for the first time today and used this video. I feel great! My mind is clear. Struggled with a few of the postures but after a few repetitions of them they began to feel natural. Looking forward to doing this every day from now on.

I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I used to swim for my exercise. Now with pools closed, I needed something else. I really appreciated that you brought nature to me, even in quarantine!

This guy is inspirational in the sense that he gives beginners motivation to practise tai chi.
But to be honest, I can point out quite a number of flaws from his tai chi (not that I wanna criticise him or anything, but I believe we should all practise it the right way):
1. At 6:25, posture 5, you shouldn't be bending your knees to the point that it overshoots your toes when doing the "bow stance". This will cause more stress on your knees. Also, hands should be pushed out from the waist level instead of the chest (6:23).
2. At 8:38, posture 7, it should be the movement of the waist that brings the body to face from the front to the side rather than using the shoulders to guide the movement. Tai chi is about generating motion and strength from the bottom half of the body. Just like when you're punching in the tai chi way, strength should be generated from the waist and not the shoulders/arm itself.
3. At 10:10, posture 8, the bottom of the left palm should be pushing directly above (like 1cm?) the right palm (that is facing up). This is supposed to be a self defense move. Imagine when someone grabs your right wrist. This moves allows you to "push" or "rub off" his hands off you.
Cheers!

This is lovely - i started Tai Chi a few years ago when i was house-bound due to an illness- i am so grateful to generous people that will share on Youtube -because there would be no other way for people like me to learn. Not only did the Tai Chi help me recover from the illness; but I believe it also leant strength and helped in other ways that i was then able to go further and do other physical activities that i hadn't in 14 years or more. Now it's winter and VERY COLD - and i miss being active. Thank you for this to get me going again!
