I lost an EXPENSIVE mule: Vlog #30

Ranching Vlog #30: My favorite mule ran away while we were packing out an elk! We start looking for her for a couple days without success. After spotting her I round up a ton of cowboys to rope her.

That was one hell of a hunt. We tried to rope a horse last spring and every time we got close she grabbed another gear. It took 2 days to get her tired enough and fresh horses for us.

Horses are just amazing. They were running hard carrying riders and covering rocky ground and dodging scrub. Glad you found your mule. She's pretty!

That was some good riding and fantastic horses! So glad you found your mule and didn’t just call her a lost cause, since she could’ve been injured with that pack and dragging lead! Angriest we’ve ever been was when another outfitter had two horses and a mule fall from the catwalk (what we’ve nicknamed a 20 minute narrow cliff walk) and just kept riding. He didn’t come back to check the bodies, or even make sure they were dead, and they showed up at the trailhead two weeks later.
