Iconic Places to Eat in BALTIMORE (Food Tour)

We only have a couple days in Baltimore, so we are spending them trying iconic foods and famous restaurants in a Baltimore food tour. We also check out the area in town we are staying in, Mount Vernon, trying some local delights like crab cakes at the Lexington Market. We also try the famous Baltimore pit beef and some pretty unique donuts - they have Old Bay Seasoning on them!!!

Baltimore locals add horseradish and Tiger Sauce to pit beef sandwiches and malt vinegar and Old Bay to the fries. Always get onions on a pit beef too. I'm from Baltimore.

Bmore transplant. I've been here for over 20 years now. You did hit some of the classics. Well done. Chaps is the best. You have to get the tiger sauce (literally just may and horseradish) but with beef, horseradish is the way to go. Also, the beef platter served on white bread covered in fries and gravy is the way to go! The cookie part of the Bergers cookie is just a delivery vessel for that fudge. Glad you enjoyed your food while you were in the area!

You guys drove through and I hope you enjoyed your time. Next time you guys come back may I suggest you try COCOs restaurant this is my families go to crab cake place. Also you guys need to try gravy fries, doesn’t matter from where just ask for some gravy fries. I may also point you towards Frank’s pizzeria or Papas and Jimmy’s famous seafood. I totally need to try that Old Bay donut OMG! I have had Old Bay Kettle Corn in Rehoboth Beach and Flying Dog Brewery makes Dead Rise, their Old Bay Gose beer which is amazing. I love me a good Maryland Crab cake. I had never had one until I moved here and was blown away. The churches around here always have Pit Beef for sale and we have yet to try some. We will one day though. And now I'm hungry! 😂❤️

Polock Johnny’s with the works sauce is a must try! Sadly it’s gone out of style, and maybe only two locations are left! They used to have a location at Lexington market!
