Barcelona is an amazing place to eat! But here’s the thing - it can also be hard to eat well in Barcelona because it’s so touristy. There are just so many options, and lots of them literally are tourist traps. But happily there are also so many incredible places to eat and delicious things to taste and drink if you just know where to look.

In this video I take you to 10 of my favourite places to eat 10+ incredible bites. And we visit 3 famous neighbourhoods across the entire video. We go to the Born, the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta - three neighbourhoods that you have to visit, and we’ll eat delicious food in each!

And a number of places are places we visit on Devour Tour’s food tours - including our Tastes & Traditions of Barcelona Food Tour and our Tapas, Taverns & History Food Tour

So, where do we go?
1. Granja Dulcinea for an incredible suizo (chocolate and cream!)
2. Mercado Santa Caterina: We visit Bar Joan for a fry-up breakfast and cava and Antonio Iberics for a fantastic selection of cured meats. Plus, we visit a stall for delicious escalivada.
3. Historic Casa Gispert for a selection of wood-roasted almonds, and chocolate treats
4. Hofmann Pastisseria for an insane marscapone croissant
5. La Campana for delicious turrón and horchata
6. Xarcutería La Pineda for vermouth and a selection of potato chips with Espinaler sauce, cheeses and salt-cured anchovies
7. Bodega La Palma for patatas bravas and red wine
8. Can Paixano for a delicious butifarra sandwich and also a pork loin and cheese sandwhich - all knocked back with their famous cava
9. La Cova Fumada for a bomba (it was invented here!), grilled squid and grilled sardines
10. Can Ramonet for a delicious seafood fideuá and drinking from the porrón!

Salut!

Here another Barcelonian confirming all this places are legit the best representation of my country and my city without any doubt. In fact my grandpa use to walk me to many of those places back in the 80's.
That's the way we eat, and drink.
My very honest congrats for the video.

Catalan lad here, and I must say this is a really good guide on what Barcelona really is for locals, turists often leave feeling like they were lied to before coming here, but the kind of places you've shown on the video are actually really really good. If you're coming to Barcelona soon, go to this places and you'll surely enjoy your trip!

We just got back from Barcelona and we did our own private food tour by following this video. We did 7/10 spots. This was a wonderful highlight to our trip. We enjoyed everything we tried. The last one was fantastic with authentic paella. Thank you so much for putting this together. My trip to Barcelona was amazing!

As a lover of all things Spain, I want to tell you both that my wife and I absolutely cannot get enough of you guys. Your enthusiasm about what you're doing is apparent and we both look forward to all of your new posts. I must admit that sometimes my wife will say to me "really we're watching Spain revealed again? We have watched it at least a million times." To my reply...."Yes and we're going to watch it again for the millionth and one time!" Then we both laugh and say how much we wish we were back in Spain again. Thank you for all you do and when we are in Spain again maybe we can all meet and have a feast together. Adios.

THANKYOU so much for your fascinating food tour. I’m from Scotland and on holiday with my 13 year old daughter. I was keen not to fall into tourist traps and try to give her an authentic Barcelona experience. I visited 3 of these food stops and wow were they amazing. I live how you added the history and culture of these places. Your enthusiasm is brilliant!

As a Barcelona native, I want to say Kudos to you for portraying this great variety of places and foods and for the language notes (as a translator and language lover, I loved this and learnt a couple of things from this video). I have huge respect for you and Yoli and the work you do.
PS Your brother has great sense of humour. Poor tigers 😅👏.

I love this city. Can't have enough of it. Those narrow streets are amazing.

Hey!

James,
My wife and I would rate Cam Ramonet as the highlight of our trip to Barcelona. Thank you for the recommendation on Fideua and the Porron. The Fideua was amazing and the Porron was a great way to enjoy a delicious white wine.

I’m always amazed by your pronunciation. As Catalan can tell it’s one of the best I ever heard on YT. And heard a lot! Congrats mate!

Just got back from Barcelona. Wish I had seen this earlier. Aside from the actual food suggestions (getting something traditional and unique for breakfast every day seemed almost impossible), the knowledge of the history of these places is amazing. Thank you!
