Demo of Tesla's rotating magnetic field

Demo of Tesla's rotating magnetic field using a Mendelson's surplus Japan Servo motor without the rotor and throwing bits of metal and magnets in a plastic tube inside the stator windings. Only thing that really worked was a thin spring from the motor itself - everything else just sat there and buzzed.

Hummm... I sort of wonder: would the steel part (inside) eventually start heating if not allowed any movements? ...

Could you explain why the White and yellow wire are connected? And why the red and black are connected to the run capacitor. I’ve tried a few set ups and motors and with my function generator but still no results. Just want to understand your set up a little better

Awesome video I’ve been trying to recreate this for a week I believe im doing everything you are the only difference is I don’t have a hv capacitor (coming in the mail in a couple days) so I’ve used a couple different ones but it’s still not working.

I have all the same color wires in my motor as you do. I also had to use an extension cord as my variac has plugs so I could connect it my clips.

Do I need a microwave (hv) capacitor to make this work? Do you have any pointers? I tried seeing if you had more videos on this but I didn’t find any. And so far you do the best job of showing your set up that I’ve found. But a new video going through this would be amazing I know I’m not the only person having this problem because all the other videos demonstrating this have plenty of people who have tried and it’s not working for them as well.

Thank you
