I have 12 avocado trees born during quarantine from seed. They are now planted in the ground in my yard and are about 5 feet tall. DO NOT CUT THE TOPS. Wtf, just don't do that. Unless the seed is throwing up more than one stem and u cut back the others to let the tree focus on the strongest trunk.

IF you think you have killed your baby avocado and the og stem is dead, don't throw it away yet. Take a look at where the root meets the avocado. If the roots aren't dead (because they are still in water) wait 1-2 months. Often times the seed will throw up a brand new stem! You might have killed the OG stem but the seed package and root system are doing just fine. It is not over yet!

I’ve never lost avocado trees except when I’ve put them in terra cotta and same with my dad. They really don’t like them!

Growing avocados is more of a hobby because they won't fruit into edible fruit but I will say every time I've chopped an avocado baby it just kills it I don't understand why I was told to do it lol

I have a 13 yr old apple tree that I grew from a seed I took out of a Granny Smith apple I used to make my boy friend then now husband’s 1st pie I made him… but the crazier thing is that not only does it grow apples but they’re actually edible 🤯♥️

I was always told to prune it to encourage it to become more bushy, but anytime I ever did it didn't grow two new stems to replace the one, it only grew one more stem. So yeah, I'm done pruning too

My gran had a 50 year old avokado tree in her apartment, it bloomed and then she had to get rid of it, it became to heavy to deal with and the floor didnt love it.

Don't prune your avocado seedling until you reach 3 years of growth. It grows better in loam soil, a well holding moist soil, but you have to bury the seed without any part pf it showing abpve the soil. Mine is about 2-3years and its doing fine.

I remember seeing on here that all the varieties that taste good are all grafts. Since the seed would produce a different flavor it could be gross so all hass avocados are the same because they are grafts.

I am growing two trees myself :D One consists of two pits I tied together so they grow into one and the other one is my pride and joy. It is now taller than me (which doesn't say much because I'm pretty short, but I'm very proud of it for being 3 years old). Grew it in water and put it in a terracotta pot.

I let mine sit after taking the seed out for three days. Then I buried them in soil. Figured ‘What would nature do?’ I started with three, Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Unfortunately, Jesus died for our sins AGAIN! Mary and Joseph are fine at over 31 inches tall. They are in terra cotta pots, the same pots I planted them in. It’s been fun watching them grow.

I did grew two avocado pits and one of them even developed 2 stems! And they grew so fast and tall for some reason, they're my pride and joy and they're thriving so much

Oh shit, I found your update video right after I asked for an update. Thank you and sorry. I seriously go to you for all of my plant questions and inspirations. And you really are, at least in my book, a plant guru. And I appreciate you so damn much.

Some of my Avos i have had for 2 years and never cut them, just removed dead leaves. Their height is amazing and almost always grow me back leaves as long as the water is changed. My longest living ones are in giant glass bottles with a massive root system 🥰

I pruned my avocado plant following your video and mine died too hahaha 😂💚💔 It’s ok though cause it wasn’t doing amazing beforehand. The stem was getting tall but it was staying quite thin in girth. No beefiness to it 😉 I was hoping the chop would encourage branching and a more sturdy stem, but no dice 😅 I should have checked the roots after the stem dried up but the seed was pruned up at that point too so I tossed her. This video is making me want to try again though! 💚💚💚

I have a few seeds that sprouted. One is really tall but the bottom leaves are turning black. I have one that decided to make like 5 stems and lots of leaves. Like quadrupled.
Super stoked.
