I just launched my first ever video after seeing this! EEEEK. I've been watching your content for months, recorded my first video a month ago and then got stage fright to share it. This has given me the confidence to just publish! I am so here for 'trying needs a re brand'
from a woman in midlife, re branding the shit out of life!!

This is so comforting to me as a new YouTube creator. Two thoughts that have helped me the most are: just give it a 70% effort that’s good enough for now. And while “consistency is key” you can stop filming for a little while. The key is to pick it back up and try again. And again. Remember you are putting value out in the form of a video playlist. In two months someone who starts watching your videos will not care if you posted every week. Just keep swimming friend 😅

“Trying needs a rebrand.”

I loved this, Katie. Also this style of video is awesome for you. You come across as so fun and natural and totally in your element. Thanks for sharing with us ♡

I had been saying for years that I wanted to start a beauty channel, and one day, I just said do it already or shut up about it. My beauty channel has been so fun to do and I'm so glad I did! I'm taking these growth years as my learning time and looking at it that way has kept me going. Well that and your videos! I schedule watching your content into my work hours. Im glad you got to go on this trip, it looked so fun!

My someday is oh...about 10 years. Yes, a decade. I felt too old at 37 back then and ancient now at 47. My terrible anxiety disorder, depression, chronic pain, (health issues) low self-esteem and more have held me back, unfortunately. I just found you this morning and I'm happy for you!

Being a YouTuber is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of help from Fame -ster of course) will always pay off at the end.

After slowly getting out of my postpartum depression, and with 150 subscribers and about 5 of those actually leave comments, it gets very hard to keep going when you feel like no one is there. Barely any growth, and barely any interaction can really be hurtful towards self-esteem.. my dream for years has been to reach 1, 000 subscribers and become monetized. And I’m hoping this can be this year… 🥺

I can really relate to your comments about the discomfort of the startup phase, the trying phase, because I'm there. I just tell my friends that I've found a new hobby that I'm really enjoying. It will be a hobby until it becomes something else.

Katie I just love, love, love how down to earth you are. You're truly one of my biggest inspirations as I begin my own YouTube channel. This video could not have come out at a better time because I am so afraid of posting the first video for all the reasons you mention; fear of failing, insecure, embarrassed to put myself out there, I'm too old to start a YouTube channel, etc. My list is endless but you're very motivating and yes, you do indeed come across as absolutely natural. :-) Keep doing what you're doing and sharing with the rest of us "newbies".

Thanks for the encouragement to keep trying, Katie! After one full year we are at 710 subscribers.

This is very true. My first 4 subscribers were my family members and then friends of my family members and now I’m about to hit 1000 subscribers and they’re definitely not all family members what I’m trying to say is your family is a great way to kickstart your YouTube journey! ❤❤❤❤

Love this format of vlogging whilst having an overarching advice topic. Vlog + offering value = ticking all boxes 😊

Katie, I absolutely loved this video style! You're creativity shined as you blended vlogging, lifestyle, youtube tips, and inspo. I really appreciate your content and I hope to break through my own personal hurdles and get back to making videos again. It's so true that sometimes we are our own worst critics.
