This is a tutorial on how to install custom firmware on the Anbernic RG35xx Plus and RG35xx H what just maybe the best retro emulating handheld. This is macOS Tutorial and we will be flashing Batocera Lite / Koroki.

I’ve followed this video and it’s gave my device a new lease of life so I thank you for that!

I ended up actually loading on the brand new V40 which seems to be running Amazing it’s way better than the stock firmware. My only issue though is I’m now limited to gb, gbc, gba, psp and ds as I used the bios and roms from the sd card that came with my handheld!

For some reason ps1 etc just doesn’t load I assume that’s a bio and rom issue and I have absolutely no clue how to get them! I know how to load them when I have them but I’m not sure where to get them from which is a massive shame!

May I just add a quick comment, this video has been a bit of a lifesaver. I recieved my RG35xx Plus a few days ago and after half an hour of playing around I turned it off, only to come back and it got stuck in the boot cycle. This whole weekend I've been looking into a new OS as its been advised to get a new SD and what was just me wanting to explore some old games had turned into a huge pain in the A***. I originally tried using Garlic not realising it wouldn't work on my device and my RG35XX Plus wouldn't boot. Nightmare! Anyway days of downloading different software etc I stumbled on this video and hey ho, I have a working device. No games yet but thats next! But what I would advise is that the disc image file for Batocera comes in a zip file and needs to be extracted with Unarchiver before it can be flashed with Balena Etcher. Otherwise it gets stuck trying to decompress! But thanks so much to the maker of this video who has now given light at the end of the tunnel for an entire weekend of torment! All I need now is to figure out about Roms and Bios and I should be good to go! THANK YOU! <3

For some reason Balenaetcher keeps saying "flash failed", but I'm not sure why. Do I need to partition my microsd card first?
