Is muOS the best CFW for the RG35XX SP? Full Beginner's Guide!

👉Gary and Zu are OBSESSED with the new RG35XX SP, and while stock OS is fine, there's always something better out there. With that in mind, they decided to try muOS, a CFW option that's been around for a while, but who just recently kicked it into high gear with their BEANS update. This CFW has almost everything you need and they've already added stuff you didn't know you wanted for the next release.

This is a really good video! I put MUOS on my RG35XXSP and its freaking great. But I can play freaking Stardew Valley on this thing! And every retro game until ps1. That's what surprised me the most. Because I saw Retro Game Corp play it on his and I thought it was so cool. The custom firmware these guys put out is amazing and I wish I was smart enough to do that 😂

Thanks for the tutorial! I really want to try muOS but I’ll probably wait a few months before switching. For my use case, haven’t had any issues with the stock OS. Battery life is great and I’m only playing 1 game at a time

1. How's the performance compared to stock for N64, DC, and PSP?

2. Is there a way to adjust contrast & saturation in MuOS?

3. Is there a hotkey to switch between Joystick/dpad and C buttons for N64?

4. Is retroarch all setup with key mappings and hotkeys?

5. How long is boot up time and exiting games?

6. Is the dpad & button remap function working in retroarch and external emulators like on stock firmware.(press power and R2 to toggle)

Worth mentioning that it's much faster to copy the cheats zip folder to an SD card first, then extracting it afterwords 👍

Dosent work with 2 sd cards, will not find the second sd card, tested on 2 types of sd cards new, sandisk and kioxia.

Battery performance goes down with MuOS, plus there is no search option! I switched right back to stock OS, might reconsider with future updates.

how different is the border for GBA games from the stock one? I really liked what anbernic shipped with the slight inset shadows and the gameboy advance sp label. look like the original

Question, say I wanted to throw in another SD card into the second slot to hold all my roms, how do I go about doing that? I saw on the stock OS you just put in the second SD card and it copys all the folders over. That doesn't seem to be the case with MuOS though. Do I just copy all the folders and files from the SD card with the OS onto the second card? Hope I'm making sense.
