Who are Wyatt and Reyka?!

If you're new here, hi! 👋

Originally from Washington (Wyatt) and Ohio (Reyka) in the USA, we started dating in college during the pandemic.

To celebrate graduation, we set off on a 6-week trip to Mexico. We filmed some videos for our family back home, ate a million tacos, and quickly got hooked on life on the road. On a whim, we set a 50-country goal! We didn't know if we'd make it, but it sounded fun.

Dozens of passport stamps, a couple years, and many mistakes later, here we are! Still traveling to new countries, we are living out our wildest dreams, doing what makes us happiest! 🥹

We are incredibly grateful to be able to travel our planet every day. It's not lost on us how lucky we are. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey! 🥰

I was born and grew up in Hong Kong. I am almost 70 years old now and glad to see that you two spent such good efforts to introduce and promote authentic local Hong Kong foods.

"Milk tea" is inherited from the English culture after Hong Kong became a colony of UK for about 150 years ago. There are many things in Hong Kong inherited from the English during this period. Milk tea is one of them. I don't think that Lan Fong Yuen is the first restaurant or one of the first restaurants which invented milk tea. When I was a small child and followed my dad to restaurant, he already ordered milk tea plus, of course, egg tarts and pineapple bun. The traditional tea in Hong Kong (and China) is just tea. We don't add milk.

If you go back to Hong Kong in the future, I recommend that you try "French toast", which, like milk tea, is a food inherited from western culture. Almost all small restaurants serve French toast.

as a Hongkonger, I can tell you tea is the most important thing, the meals we call it 飲茶 (yam cha) that’s mean drink tea in the meaning. Dim sum just like the snack

us chinese love our tea, it warms the body and i think it also helps digestion, if there's lots of oil in the foods you ate

Next time, try Lin Heung Lau in Central nearby Lan Heung Yuen. A traditional chinese dim sum restaurant which they still use the trolley for Dim Sum present to customers..

From what I've heard Dim Sum is traditionally served with tea. That's probably why she was insisting you order tea with yours.

Try Ball-law-yau (pineapple bun with butter) or even better Sin-yau-ball-law (pineapple bun with a piece of unmelted butter). Heavenly!
