I've been poor and isolated my whole life. I have so many barriers to good health. The information available on the internet is really all anyone needs. I often thought I needed professional help for mental wellness or nutrition etc. etc. But it wasn't available to me so my partner and I figured it out. We learned. We are lucky enough that we have brains that can learn, but at the end of the day it's about personal responsibility. A person has to want to make the lifestyle changes. All professionals can give you is the information they have and recommendations, but it's up to the person to make those changes. I am always grateful for this podcast and pointing me in the right direction for greater wellness in all areas. I Grok this podcast.

WOW! Mayim asked Peter (who I respect and follow) some fascinating questions. He was surprisingly transparent. Fantastic interview!

I am 80. Am I in my last decade, perhaps? Still investing $ for the future. Calm - yes, anxious - yes. Do I have wisdom? - elements - yes. Exercise - yes. Positive - diet - mostly. I like wine. This is the best interview/discussion I have experienced with Attia. Thanks. P.S. Life is a crap shoot. A friend said this long ago - an element of wisdom.

Thank for this great episode.|
I am unemployed due to a traumatic brain injury and this has given me time to make changes in my life. I am now doing my early morning walks of about 1.5km and had also stopped buying processed food as my current budget is fairly limited. I had lost 7kg and am also not experiencing any difficulties with my walk like I did in the initial week. My goal is to lose a further 3kg.
As for my cognitive health, I am relearning a language that I had not used for used for 36 years and I am also taking up drumming.

This really is the best interview I’ve seen of Peter Attia, and I’ve seen a lot. Seriously, breakdown is the word for this convo. It wasn’t all biological markers and metabolic optimization metrics. It was a human being being human. 💗 Bravo Mayim!

I’ve stopped eating processed foods and increased my vegetable intake 6 months ago. Amazed at the improvement in my mental health!

Thank you for mentioning emotional abuse!!
I also experienced a lot of pain and shame last week.
I wanted to numb it first.
But then I decided to actively feel it. I kept telling myself to welcome the pain. And then I meditated😌💮, which I do far too rarely.
I learned that from you and I also learned from you that it's ok to be weird and sensitive and I don't have to be ashamed of it all the time
I look up to you💝

As all I can say is, at 60, "Wish I had this to listen to when I was in my 20's" and all the other free information out there. I share any well being info with my 2 sons who are in the mid to late 20's.

Reuploaded with JC's audio fixed in the outro! (Sorry, JC 🤣🤦‍♀). Which of Dr. Attia's revelations blew your mind the most? The origins and prevalence of chronic disease? Nutritional guidelines for longevity? Feelings of helplessness underneath anger? Something else??

Let us know below!! 🤯

Mayim, I had to reach out and send you so much love. My best friend of 52 years died 7 years ago from MSA and I've never once heard someone else who's life has been affected by it much less heard of it. Brought me immediately to tears knowing intimately the pain your father went through as well as you watching someone you love deteriorate. I have no words but to let you know I'm holding you in my heart. Namaste.

Excellent episode! I have already watched it several times! It was eye-opening to me that I do fill or numb my stress with food and shopping - my addictions. I feel that I live with very high cortisol levels. It is so important to take care of your body not only for you but for your family and friends. So for Lent, I will take all of the advice of this episode and live a better and healthier lifestyle. Mayim and Jonathan love your conversations with your guests and it always feels like time spent with your best friends - it is always so good for my soul!

I love what Peter does and I always love listening to him, but I feel this is one of the most open and fun that he has ever been on an interview - such a great joy to watch him here :) Thank you, Mayim! 😄

I LOVE Dr Attia for the amount of knowledge he shares with us. I am a subscriber of his for a long time and I HOPE that others will do the same so he has the time and means to do the deep dives and explain to us in not a dumbed down but a comprehensive package of podcasts that are easy and free to access. Thanks to him for being vulnerable in this interview. And BRAVO to Mayim for asking questions no one asks and being patient for his answers to formulate and bloom. Well done both of you!

O-M-G ! ! ! As I've been listening to this - I've been tracking my own life experiences back day-by-day. Yes - I've done this for years, but I've seen most of these signals the last few weeks! I'm ordering the book and workbook tonight and I've found Peter Attia's podcast on YouTube and intend to watching them quickly.
