My Brain EXPLODED After Learning this Simple Hip Move to Fix Early Extension

Today I get a golf lesson to fix my early extension in my golf swing. On top of early extension, we go over remedies to stop getting stuck in the down swing. Leaving too big of divots due to holding on too long on the downswing and improper wrist action. My golf coach Dana Dahlquist goes over the proper way to use golf swing kinematics to do this, and we also go over golf tips and drills to achieve all this.

Huge fan of the Dana content. It’s like every video perfectly addresses the issues I’m having with my own golf swing.

Great stuff guys! Your swing has come a LONG way man and all of your hard work and dedication is paying off. I’ve learned so much as well watching all of these videos. Now, have a I implemented all of this into my swing? No! 😂 It has taught me more about what I need to picture or feel in my swing. I’m 51 and my best round is 74…That was about 1 years ago. Yesterday, I had an absolute blow out round- I threw 4 clubs beyond return. 😂 Two in the woods about 30yds deep and two in the water. Today was an expensive day at the PGA STORE. Golf will humble you real quick and you’ve gotta learn how to manage the game to succeed. Thanks for all you do and thanks to your coaches as well. Continued success and hopefully one day you’ll shoot a 72 or better. 🙏 🇺🇸 ⛳️

Dana is like a F1 driver of swing knowledge. Very interesting listening to him drive his incredibly powerful car of knowledge around a Gen Z street track with all kinds of obstacles and distractions. He really reigns it in and keeps it simple when he has to. Excellent coach, great content. 👌

jerome, I was a bit skeptical at first about your channel and quest but it's turned into one of my favorite golf channels especially with the instruction and info from Dana who is a real expert. i'm also very impressed with your progress and that type of swing action is what i've been aspiring for over the last several years. you are helping yourself and the rest of us too, thnx.

Interesting lesson learned a lot. I’ve intuitively noticed when I flatten my turn with long clubs I hit them much better but when I get to wedges a steeper turn helps a lot

I can personally attest to the no mats portion. I bent my 8 iron getting too steep in the downswing. I didn't realize it until I went to hit it during a round. When I looked down at address it looked weird. Definitely hit the grass range. I can't speak to LA. I haven't lived there in almost 30 years. Great lesson. I grew up learning to play with persimmon woods and blade irons from the 30's. I didn't have a driver, so I exclusively hit a 3 wood. To this day my 3 wood is my favorite club to hit. So many different shots you can play with it.

40:22, i see you still practising your backswing by still stretching the right arm and back as you can on the backswing. I think once you let go on old habit you can start building on some.sound stuff.

The comment about feeling like you shifting your torso back on the back swing might have gotten my game back on track. I shot a 39 on the front 9 of a difficult course today with that swing thought in mind. Also, I used the vanilla chip video comment about how when pro’s chips and pitch the club head goes about past waste high at finish….pluuussss all the other knowledge I’ve been applying for 6 years.

It was pretty funny to hear you say you're hitting the ball too far, and over the green. 99% of golfers want to hit it further, plus 90% of golfers underclub and hit it too short. You'll learn your club distances by playing. I liked your video of playing a round. Play to learn. There's a whole world of golf you haven't discovered yet: weather, wind, bad lies, downhill, trees, other players, tough holes, pressure, etc. Range time can only teach you swing fundamentals. Golf is a complete mastery of all the elements.

Love these videos but I’d like to see some course vlogs as well. Hopefully your wrist is better

When things are off in my game, I usually feel disconnected from the ground.
It turned out my core strength was weak.
Situps lead to a connected feeling, which leads to solid contact.

I wish I could get taught by a pro coach I’ve watched soooo many hours of videos and have practiced so much, but I’m still not very good at contact. I keep practicing but I wish I had a guide like this to show me how I can have a tour pro swing and play like them and be taught by them.
