In this video, Steve Caseley covers the daily Scrum. There's probably no more discussed aspect of Scrum project delivery than the daily Scrum. It's a crucial 15-minute standup that can set the tone for an entire organization's production. Steve explains its importance and the crucial rules.

First of all, the Daily Scrum is absolutely mandatory for all team members. This isn't something you do when you can't come up with a good excuse to miss it. If you're in the office, you're at the Daily Scrum.

And the attendees are anyone associated with Scrum delivery for the organization. Every team member, the Scrum Master to make sure principles are upheld, and the Project Owner to make sure blockers get identified and removed.

Everyone answers three things: first, what they've accomplished since the last Scrum. Second, their plans for the next eight hours. Last, problems and issues with accomplishing those things. And it helps everyone get in and out within the absolute 15-minute maximum if everyone stands during the meeting.

Keep Scrums to 15 minutes by taking discussions offline — but immediately afterward — and you'll be having fast, productive and well-attended Daily Scrums.
