I actually lived two years in dxb as a pedestrian and actually super enjoyed it cos it kept me fit and part of my community and I would walk around in August for example just like any other time of year no issue. And then I lived the other years as a full blown driver, way far out in these developments, driving wide and far around the city. You can live in the right areas that facilitate your choice, you can live walk to all and everything you need in yr local area and the rest of the time rely on public transport. You just have to choose your area wisely and know which ones are which. There are car centric suburban areas and inner city pedestrian areas. You 100 percent can definitely have both just choose what you want and can afford. Amazing.

Thank you so much for the videos about Dubai. Super Informative. One thing that helps a lot is to segment the areas that expats can work by major and salary. This helps a lot to understand what areas (specially in tech) are in demand, and whats the range of income so that they can compare with current situation and decide.

Ive been living in Dubai for 12 years. I live in palm Jumeirah. Dubai is not walkable, especially in the spring/summer months. It is impossible to walk anywhere, simply it’s too hot. Before moving to Dubai, i lived in L.A CA you can’t compare these two cities.

Nice video, Toumas. I heard that one day Dubai will be underwater as it is a man made iceland. Recent floods is an example that things can go wrong? what are your thoughts on this? Thanks

I want to rent a condo furnished for three months. I'm retired and don't want to deal with Mr. Snow from December to March. Like to stay somewhat central will not be driving. Any suggestions?

What about the language? Is Arabic necessary? Do you speak it or are you learning it yourself?

Dubai is now overcrowded, over hyped city, traffic jams in downtown, expensive, good if you are making good money, high rents, real estate is expensive, very hot humid summers. Its a hype that everything is rosy here. Remember the other side of the pasture is not always green. Do your homework before you move here. For a short holiday its ok. If you want to live here long time you should be making good money. I would say Dubai is for the rich
