Date Picker in Excel - The Coolest Little Helper in Excel!

The Date Picker allows you to view a calendar and then select the correct date, without having to worry about formatting a date correctly.

How to install and use a Date Picker pop-up window in Excel - this method is versatile and works in all modern versions of Excel (Excel 2007 and later).

This is perfect for creating forms that users must fill-out; now, they won't have to worry about entering the date correctly!

The best part about this is that the date is saved in Excel in the standard format, which means that dates input using this method are regular dates that everyone can use, even if they don't have the Date Picker installed in Excel.

This is one of my new favorite things in Excel and I really think it should be made standard in all versions!

This is BRILLIANT! I've tried the built-in several times and got very frustrated when I couldn't make it work. This tool no time to install and works great.

If you type "Date" in a cell with no formatting and click on the cell below it, it shows up.

How is a date picker not part of excel core This is so basic, I can't believe we have to go through hacks to implement this.

I have Excel 2010 and put the .xlam file in XLSTART. The DatePicker worked without further setup after restarting Excel and after a PC restart; so that configuration looks reliable.
Certainly the DatePicker is very good, and makes entering dates really easy. Thanks to TeachExcel for a great recommendation.

I don't know why this worked like this but when I unzipped the file and Excel was already open the Excel program automatically asked me if I would like to use the add-in and I clicked yes and it's been work for the last 30 minutes, lol. I have opened several other Excel files and I shut Excel down completely and then re-opened and the date picker is working excellent. Thank you
