Excel date picker: insert an excel date picker calendar into a workbook (excel 64 bit version)

This beginners tutorial looks at a second method of inserting a date picker in excel. Using the developer tab, we show you how to insert a date picker calendar add in for excel (I'm using excel 2021 in this video). This calendar then acts as a date chooser in excel. Also learn how to highlight a set of dates or a specific date range in the add in we have used.

Thanks for the video, the Add-ins work on my private excel but my company prevents any add ins so I simply can't use them. Absolutely incredible that MS decided to delete the date picker from the developer more.

In your first video done on 32 bit you added using CTRL+: inserts today's date in a cell; but worth noting that in office 365 excel online (e.g. sheets you have on Sharepoin) CTRL+: calls a date picker, useful since many of our shared sheets are on Sharepoint; but if you download the workbook, unfortunately the date dissappears and the date picker isn't available

My company won't allow us to add the add-ins option, Is there another option for 64bit?

I am using my university student account for Office 365 and whenever I get into the add ins it says the admin has disabled this option. This is a corporative decision from my universtiy so this is not going to change. Is there a way to manually install this add-in so I don't have to do it from excel itself?

When I press the add in box it shows a small tab not like your it only has (analysis toolbar, euro currency tools and solver add in)

G'day. I put these calendars into all my spreadsheets and they appear to work great. However, 2 questions:
1- Is it possible to insert into a cell - ie. you click the cell and the calendar appears?
2- When I open the app on my phone and click on the calendar - it gives the option to reseize or move the calendar instead of picking the date. Is there a way you can fix the calendar in place?

It'a a hassle to always have to unprotect the worksheet for the mini calendar to work. Is there a way to use date picker on a protected sheet?

Thanks for this explanation about MSFT's Datepicker add in. Unfortunately it appears as if the add in remains once invoked on top of the spreadsheet which makes it significantly INFERIOR to Samradapps Datepicker which unfortunately MSFT has chosen to block. Any information / suggestions on how to remove the MSFT datepicker, not just shrink it, but hide it until again required will be useful. Likewise any suggestions as to how to avoid MSFT's blackage of Samradapps is also welcome

Can't use these calendars in most corporate environments where security has locked the operating system. Needs to be a native Microsoft object.

the worst way to add a date, MSFT really socks, it might be as simply as to choose the date cell and a calendar appears to pick the date, in this video you have to go again to "developer" options to invoke the calendar!!!
