Incredible! First Ever Catch Attempt of Superheavy is a Complete Success! - SpaceX Weekly #136

Показать описание
This week at Starbase we would all witness history in the making as SpaceX launched their fifth integrated flight test, with the intention of making the first ever catch of a Superheavy Booster. Also hoping to mitigate heating issues that plagued the flight 4 Starship, leading it to splash down many miles off target, SpaceX is aiming for a precision landing of their flight 5 upper stage. Meanwhile, over in Florida, ULA launches their second certification flight, SpaceX launches the Hera mission for ESA, and several marine assets are sent out to sea to avoid the incoming Hurricane Milton.

I always wondered where the cameras were that transmitted these video feeds and this afternoon I found them! Trucks with microwave transmitter dishes! I will never forget what I saw over the past few days here for the rest of my life. The world changed forever on Sunday.

Great summary. I love your detailed review of the week with timestamps.
If SpaceX finds value in continued testing on block 1, e.g. 13/31, then I expect they'll try for another launch this year. If block 2, then February.

I genuinely shook for 15 minutes after the catch 😂 btw if you look at the grid fins, they partially deformed

Another great recap. I saw a few things I had missed over the covered period and was reminded again how much they did in that last 10 days. Love your coverage - clear and concise.

Huge achievement for SpaceX and History is made right B4 our eyes ! 😮 They made that Super Heavy catch look like they'd done that before which is your first clue over how difficult that was to pull off. Congrats to SpaceX, Elon and the Amazing Guys n Galz who made that happen. It made me feel good just to see what SpaceX & Texas can do.
There were some anomalies but compared to the past difficulties they've delt w/ on this project, they shouldn't be too hard to solve. I'm just wondering exactly Where on Planet Earth will they attempt to catch a StarShip and how far away are they from Orbital Refueling. Whatever the case, I'll be watchin ! 😊
Thx for the extra SpaceX report this week Mr Padre', it's Muy Apreciado ! 👍

Don't think I'll ever get tired of watching that catch footage! ALL of the catch footage! Lil bit biased, but VR's view is my absolute favourite! Also, how was it only a week since the water bag testing? Seems AGES ago! ha!

SpaceX is moving goods like ants, working hard. Just non stop progression. From one side they are putting a Mars graphic on a parking garage, another thing they do is test something, build somehitng. Incredible.

16:03 The right hand pane looks like it's a scene straight out of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Thanks you for excellent coverage and a great summary.

When we first heard of the plans to catch a booster I'm sure most of us thought they'd just end up going with legs,
but No! They actually caught it first try!
first vehicle since SN15 to return back to starbase intact after a flight!
