It’s so much easier if you use a pair of vise grips that have like a middle nose on them to lock on to the screw if it is not flush or recessed.

Just get a 'speed out' screw extractor kit. It's just one bit (or bit set), you just have to flip it around to extract it. Same idea and it's what he uses towards the end. But he's trying to tell people to drill into it first. idk why. Just make it easy and buy the extractor kit

If you drill the middle of stripped screw with a 1/8 drill bit you can then tap in with a hammer a No. 2 (red) Robertson (square head) screwdriver. no extractor bit needed.

If you have access. A sharp punch and some loosening direction blows almost tangent with the head. Never failed me yet. Drilling and easy out can ruin the internal threads if it wanders and it takes too much time. Easy out is an option, but its always my last.

Don't use Philips head screw (which are designed to camber the driver head out). Use a Pozi, or ultimately Torx.

Or you could simply use a pair of vampires or a pair of double grip Knipex. Either one of those pliers will get that right out. No drilling no worrying about running a drill into the other surface.
