I'm just starting to teach my English IV students 'Beowulf', and this is blowing their minds! I love hearing it spoken in the original language; it's amazing how very different modern English is. Thank you very much for your recording!

The way the pronunciation of 'g's changes is the most confusing part to me lol

I don't belive for a decond Gardena geardagum would've had a different g. Doesn't rhyme at all anymore like this.

Please read more! read the entire ballad, read the Troisus and cresseyde and the Romaunt of the Rose! Cant bear to listen to them when they're flaunting their modern sides.
