I’m pretty sure Tarantino has said in some past interviews that one thing he’s thought of doing for his tenth film (which is supposed to be his final one, because he wants to go out while he’s still got it) is a remake of his first movie, reservoir dogs, updated with the modern filmmaking techniques he knows now. But I guess if that’s what he picks, we shouldn’t go out to see it, since we’ve already heard that story told!

As a QT fan, he's always been very assertive and kind of a troll at certain times, but i always respected his honesty and how he doesn't get swayed by popular opinion. If you've seen his interviews, you can tell he's a pretty cool dude and has a way with words. But yeah, even as a fan, i can't always agree with him. Hell, he even said in an interview that if someone has a valid point and doesn't agree with him, he's willing to have a discussion with them even if he doesn't agree with them. All I'm saying is that you can't always judge a book by its cover.

I understand Tarantino's opinion. I for example don't like video game remakes. I want new experiences and not the same old with a fresh coat of paint. The keyword here is "risk taking". But the industry has become too expensive to take risks and therefore has gone stale.

I'm 45 and I know exactly what he means when he says he doesn't need to watch something that's been already done before. It just doesn't interest him. That's it. If youre 20 something, and you feel Dune has been mind blowing to you, that's great, but for someone who have seen thousand of movies through his 61 years of life with a career as amazing as his...I'm sorry but you dont know much to think he is in the wrong. I saw both movies and while they are techincal masterpieces they don't have a soul to me or anything that made me emotionally invested at all. Again, they are good movies, but they dont have anything new to say because they are not trying. In the other hand a movie like Bladerunner 2049 (from the same director) DID something new expandind the myths of a an almost forgotten universe and in many aspects to me is a better film than both Dune movies.
