The unknown element of traceability / origin of poly recycling is that euphemism, 'pick your poison.' The manufacturers and marketers have too many obtuse selling-point gimmicks.

What about the lid? Most steel water bottles that aren’t screw top have a lid. Problem with screw top is the edge where your lip goes gets dirty.

How many waterlines that bring water to your house are made of plastic?
Most are PVC (polyvinylcloride). How are you going to escape that?
If you drill a well, once you get above the pump, it's the same plastic pipe bringing water to your house.
Do you know of any filtration system that removes any of these micro-plastics?

Are you saying? Take the water from a plastic bottle? And pour it into a stainless steel container, then drink it. The better?

Starting replacing plastic items in the kitchen with glass. Bought mason jar tops and insulated covers for travel . Wide mouth easy to clean .

Bottles (or food packaging) would be the least of my worries when it comes to this issue. We know microplastics are in the water supply now, so that's where I'd worry most. You need a water filter rated for microplastics which might not be cheap or practical if you want it for the whole house.

BTW, microplastics literally turn the freakin frogs gay. So you have to wonder what it does to human endocrine health.

So, what about things like milk or water bottles?... or a lot of other plastic containers like shampoos or skin products for example? At one point you have to kind of do your best and stop getting paranoid about stuff like this.

Almost al clean l drinking water comes in plastic bottles...i'ts hard to bring your filtered tap water in glass everywhere
