2006 Lexus LX470 Review: Watch This Before You Buy A LAND CRUISER !!

This week I spent some time with a 2006 Lexus LX470. This is the 100 Series of the LX and Toyota Land Cruiser. In this video I take a look at the cool features of the LX470 and discuss what separates the 2006-07' from the earlier model years (more hrspwr). It has TV's in the headrest!! I also take a brief look at the history of the LX/Land Cruiser, and finally I give my thoughts on which to buy. These things go foreveeeer.

Purchased a 2006 LX470 last year with 36000 miles. Best car I've ever owned. (Yeah, there have been Porsches, Audis, Volvos, you name it.) They will pry the keys for this car out of my cold dead hands. This car had been maintained, was in pristine condition. I am well aware of the potential problem spots. Love it.

The JDM spoiler on the LX is actually an air flow diverter. On a sports car it's meant to hold the rear down using wind downforce, but on SUVs it's purpose is to divert air down behind the rear of the vehicle to get rid of the vacuum that develops behind brick shape of the body.

A locking centre differential is just to convert an AWD car into a 4WD....i.e in 4WD the power is split 50/50....you can't do that on high traction surfaces, so you need a center differential to allow slip between the front and rear axles when on the road in AWD mode.

I dont know why people think "center diff lock" is a feature like a difflock.... it's literally a mechanical requirement to allow the car to switch between AWD and 4WD.

Shopped these for a long time until I decided to go with a gx470. Was able to get newer and less miles for less money with most of the same reliability and off road ability

There’s actually two more cup holders in the center console lid. Took me forever to notice it.

I’m about to go test drive one that has no AHC I don’t think I would like it but we’re going to see if you made it seem like it’s such a ride such a good ride even without the hydraulic system

Well something happens when you get a bit older like me can you start to prefer the luxury. That’s why I bought the LX 470.

It doesn't have a spoiler. You'll see those on many SUVs to keep dirt off the back window. I call it the rear window dirt deflector/spoiler.

You guys never talk about fuel economy. Here in Australia fuel is expensive. A friend of mine has the Lexus landcruiser 2006 and its a fuel gasler. Mine is 2006 landcruiser Sahara 4.2 TD with tons of power and very similar in terms of luxury and uses a fraction of what he is consuming. I had it since new never had a problem .I pull an off road caravan to go bush every year .

I think you can fit 3-4 more tall boys. At least you could in a older 2001.
There’s at least one cup holder in the 3rd row, and 2 more in the front...The top layer of front center armrest has a hidden fold down cup holder.
