Would these guys even have to do jobs like this in a world with true equality? (Gender, social, and financial equality)

Just saying, making a social commentary on the gender divides of jobs does mean addressing the broader sociology of it; would these jobs still exist in a world with true equality? Or would we finally be more focussed on the unlimited power of sustainable energy? Would we be more focussed on and adherent to health and safety protocols as a species?

Just food for thought: Who holds the most stakes in the oil industry? Which groups of people have made Oil their entire lifeblood at the expense of these men’s lives and health, their national stability, and their environmental future? Putin? Trump? The U.S.? The Middle East? People and places that aren’t particularly fond of women.

Why should anyone be grateful that these men are essentially forced by circumstance to destroy themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally, just so that some disappointment to their ancestors can get off to a percentage fluctuating on the stock market and fly their private jet another 4 times today?

4.9% of the UK currently have solar panels and that number is only increasing as solar tech improves. The Middle East and Africa are leading the world in solar farms and implementing sustainable energy. Solar Sails are being developed for space travel, which will eliminate the need for high propulsion systems (rocket boosters). 110 countries have committed to carbon neutrality by 2050, meaning they are currently in the process of phasing out all fossil fuels. By 2040, it’s projected that all cars sold will be electric. So when oil is no longer needed for energy, cars and rockets, whose fuel are these guys digging for again?

The more you hate on women - the people who actually care about you and are desperate for you to come home safe, who hate you working that job because they’re terrified one day they might get that call saying you’re coming home in a box - rather than hating on the amoral people who put you into that position - by systemically crippling your economy and oppressing your human development by restricting your access to social support, education, healthcare, and socialisation that isn’t just a distraction from the wage slavery, until that was your last lucrative option for work - the more you destroy yourself, by turning against and mistreating those who care about you rather than the ones who see you as nothing more than a piece of meat, you leave yourselves in a position to be discarded, repeating the cycle of Men feeling undervalued, under-appreciated, and unwanted.

They’re installing/uninstalling sections of the drill. Sometimes that thing is miles long

close.... it's called tripping pipe. They are on a drilling rig. They are going to trip out to either trip off the swivel and then trip back on. or... trip all the way out. They call this tripping because they have to do this over and over. until the pipe is all the way out the hole. These gentlemen are called roughnecks, and they are tripping out. I know because I'm a Derrickman. But close good job explaining this. 💯😎
Women can come do this. I've seen and worked with them. But they never stay. They choose to do something else. which is ok. 👌

As a roughneck I can tell u whats going they're those are called tongs and they're breaking a drill pipe connection cuz they're tripping out of the hole wet probably to change a bit or they reached bottom well. The tongues are hydraulic operated that grab the pipe and torque. It's very dangerous when those things pop and never stand in the wrong spot cuz they will mess you up

I’m from west Texas and my cousin had this very job as well as a few friends I knew. My cousin got caught by the rope and yes rope not a chain and his poor ass got ragdolled around that rig and broke 75% of the bones in his body and he eventually passed from the injuries. It’s a tough job and you better keep your wits about you when doing such work.
